USA Today: Those '80s Metal Bands Still Strike A Chord
March 13, 2003USA Today published an article in its March 11 edition spotlighting the current popularity of '80s metal and the renewed media interest in a musical subculture many thought was extinct prior to the recent Rhode Island nightclub blaze in which nearly 100 people died. According to author Clara Frenk, "bands such as POISON, DEF LEPPARD and GREAT WHITE may not be heard on the radio or seen on MTV the way they used to be, but that doesn't mean the musicians or their fans packed it in when their beloved era faded."
